FLEETING

Empyrean opens to the earth
in myriad colors.
God’s abode revealing
hues that grace no artist’s palate.

Tinges and shades,
tinctures and tones,
LIGHT
explodes across
the burgeoning night’s sky,
blending the line
between heaven and earth.

Then colors contract
into infinite density
focused in one
pinpoint of light,
sinking into the darkness below.

Going
going
going
gone.
